Job Overview

BASF is hiring a Country Manager – Vegetable Seeds to lead business operations across the Maghreb region. This role is ideal for professionals seeking agribusiness leadership jobs in Morocco with a strong focus on sales strategy, market development, and team management.


Core Responsibilities

Business & Financial Leadership

  • Drive top-line sales growth and ensure forecast accuracy (24-month rolling)
  • Manage financial performance KPIs, including margins and profitability
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets, sales forecasts, and cost structures
  • Ensure achievement of business targets and regional growth objectives

Sales & Market Strategy

  • Develop and implement country marketing and sales strategies
  • Lead customer-centric initiatives to enhance customer experience
  • Manage key accounts (KAM) and distributor networks across the region
  • Define and execute pricing strategies, rebates, and commercial policies
  • Monitor market trends, demand planning, and supply alignment

Operations & Planning

  • Oversee forecasting, demand planning, and seed supply management
  • Balance supply and demand based on market conditions and agreements
  • Ensure timely delivery and high-quality seed availability
  • Control marketing & sales (M&S) expenses within the region

People Management & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop local sales and marketing teams
  • Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and training programs
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Implement leadership practices aligned with coaching and feedback-driven management

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), and local regulations
  • Align operations with regional and global business guidelines

Job Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Agricultural Engineering or related field
  • MBA or Business Administration degree is a plus

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in agribusiness, seed industry, or agricultural sales leadership
  • Experience working in a multinational company environment is preferred
  • Strong understanding of Maghreb market dynamics and business culture

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills
  • Results-driven with a strong sales and business development mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure
