Job Overview

The Downhole Tools Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and field support of downhole equipment used in exploration and production activities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the engineer will ensure that tools meet performance specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual design and detailed engineering of downhole tools, including drill bits, stabilizers, and measurement‑while‑drilling (MWD) systems.
  • Conduct finite element analysis, stress testing, and performance simulations to validate tool designs.
  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing, bench testing, and field trials in collaboration with the manufacturing and operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and compliance reports in line with industry standards.
  • Provide on‑site technical support during tool deployment, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with R&D, product management, and sales to translate market needs into innovative solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of downhole mechanics, fluid dynamics, and material science.
  • Experience with API and ISO standards for oilfield equipment.

Education
