Job Overview

The Artificial Intelligence Ethics Officer will lead the development and implementation of ethical guidelines, risk assessments, and governance processes for AI products and services deployed by Microsoft Morocco. Reporting to the Head of Responsible AI, the role will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, legal, product management, and external stakeholders—to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve AI ethics policies, frameworks, and assessment tools tailored to the Moroccan market.
  • Conduct comprehensive ethical risk assessments for new and existing AI initiatives, identifying potential biases, fairness concerns, and societal impacts.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate ethical checkpoints into design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on responsible AI practices, ensuring consistent application across projects.
  • Engage with external regulators, academic experts, civil society organizations, and industry groups to stay abreast of emerging standards and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for senior leadership, highlighting ethical findings, mitigation strategies, and compliance status.
  • Lead incident response for AI‑related ethical issues, coordinating investigations and corrective actions.
  • Advise on data privacy, security, and governance considerations specific to AI workloads.

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning pipelines, and data science methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical frameworks, fairness metrics, bias mitigation techniques, and responsible AI principles.
  • Excellent analytical and critical‑thinking abilities to evaluate complex technical and societal implications.
  • Proven experience drafting policy documents, guidelines, and compliance reports.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to build consensus across multidisciplinary teams and influence decision‑making.
  • Familiarity with Moroccan data protection laws, AI regulations, and international standards such as ISO/IEC 42001.

Education

A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, Law, Public Policy, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications in AI governance, data ethics, or privacy (e.g., Certified Ethical Emerging Technologist) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of professional experience in AI ethics, responsible AI program management, policy development, or a closely related discipline. Prior experience within a multinational technology company or a regulatory body is advantageous.
