Job Overview
The Artificial Intelligence Ethics Officer will lead the development and implementation of ethical frameworks for AI products and services deployed in Morocco and the MENA region. Reporting to the Head of Responsible AI, the role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, product management, legal, and public policy—to identify potential ethical risks, design mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping Google’s AI governance model, influencing product roadmaps, and communicating ethical considerations to internal stakeholders and external partners. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve AI ethics guidelines, impact assessments, and risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct ethical reviews of AI models, datasets, and deployment scenarios to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability.
- Collaborate with product teams to embed ethical considerations early in the design and development lifecycle.
- Provide expert advice on compliance with Moroccan data protection laws, EU AI Act, and other relevant regulations.
- Engage with external stakeholders—including academia, civil society, and regulators—to gather feedback and promote responsible AI practices.
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and internal communications to raise awareness of AI ethics across the organization.
- Monitor emerging trends, research, and policy developments in AI ethics globally and locally.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for senior leadership and public policy teams.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of AI ethics principles, fairness metrics, bias mitigation techniques, and responsible AI frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex technical systems and translate findings into actionable policies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data privacy regulations, especially Morocco’s Law 09‑08 and GDPR equivalents.
- Experience with AI/ML lifecycle tools, model interpretability libraries, and ethical impact assessment methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education
A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Philosophy, Law, Public Policy, or a related field is required. Specialized coursework or certifications in AI ethics, responsible AI, or data governance are highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must have at least five years of professional experience in AI ethics, responsible AI program management, policy analysis, or a closely related discipline. Experience within a multinational technology company or a research institution is preferred.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP per year, reflecting the seniority of the role and the strategic importance of ethical AI leadership within Google Morocco.
