Job Overview
This role requires expertise in creating high-resolution digital records of heritage sites using photogrammetry, laser scanning, and GIS mapping. The position involves fieldwork at historical sites across northern Morocco, including Roman ruins, Islamic monuments, and Amazigh cultural centers. Candidates will contribute to UNESCO’s global Digital Heritage Atlas while working with Moroccan archaeologists and historians.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct 3D scanning and photogrammetry surveys of heritage sites
- Develop interactive digital archives using open-source platforms
- Collaborate with local historians to verify site authenticity
- Create metadata standards for digital heritage assets
- Train local teams in digital documentation techniques
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Agisoft Metashape and CloudCompare
- Experience with GIS mapping (QGIS preferred)
- Knowledge of ICOMOS documentation standards
- Fluency in Arabic and French
- Fieldwork adaptability in remote locations
Education
Master’s Degree in Digital Archiving, Cultural Heritage, or related field
