Job Overview
The Public Policy Analyst will support the World Bank’s mission by conducting rigorous research, evaluating policy options, and providing evidence‑based recommendations to Moroccan ministries and development partners. This role involves close collaboration with senior economists, sector specialists, and local stakeholders to design policies that promote economic diversification, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on macro‑economic, fiscal, and social policies affecting Morocco.
- Analyze data from national surveys, administrative records, and international databases to identify trends and policy gaps.
- Develop policy briefs, technical notes, and comprehensive reports for senior staff and government partners.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, round‑tables, and consultations with ministries, NGOs, and private sector representatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented policies, providing actionable feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate gender, climate, and inclusive growth considerations into policy design.
- Support the preparation of project proposals and financing documents aligned with World Bank standards.
Required Skills
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python).
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English and French; Arabic is a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise policy recommendations.
- Knowledge of Moroccan public sector structures, regulatory frameworks, and development priorities.
- Project management experience in multi‑disciplinary environments.
Education
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university. Advanced degrees (Ph.D.) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset.
Experience
A minimum of five to seven years of professional experience in policy analysis, economic research, or development consulting is required. Prior experience working with government agencies, international organizations, or think‑tanks in Morocco or the broader MENA region is strongly preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 250,000 to 350,000 SSP per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
