Job Overview

AVL Maroc is seeking a System Development Engineer to join its Powertrain (PWT) system engineering team. The role involves working on advanced automotive projects focused on diagnostics, safety systems, and powertrain functionality for modern combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with automotive safety regulations and standards
  • Develop and update project deliverables such as FTA, FMEA, HARA, TSC, and FSC
  • Validate and analyze diagnostic systems and fault detection strategies
  • Define requirements related to OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) and failure modes
  • Design and implement test plans covering different system failures
  • Coordinate communication with clients, designers, and stakeholders
  • Monitor and update safety documentation at the powertrain level
  • Analyze component failures and define recovery strategies
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and automotive safety standards
  • Support aftersales teams in maintaining powertrain systems
  • Follow up on OBD testing, certification, and regulatory documentation
  • Manage project execution, delegation, and delivery timelines

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering degree in Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related fields
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in powertrain systems or automotive engineering
  • Strong understanding of ICE, Hybrid, PHEV, and MHEV systems
  • Knowledge of power electronics and EE architecture
  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN communication networks
  • Understanding of OBD standards (Euro 6, Euro 7, CARB)
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and V-model development cycle
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Fluent in English and French
