Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Hydraulic Systems Design Engineer to join our specialized R&D division. This role is critical to our mission of developing the next generation of heavy-duty hydraulic components that power our earthmoving and mining equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of hydraulic system design, from initial conceptualization and mathematical modeling to prototyping and final testing. Key Responsibilities
- Design and simulate complex hydraulic circuits for heavy machinery using advanced CAD and CAE software.
- Perform detailed fluid power calculations to determine component sizing and pressure requirements.
- Collaborate with material scientists to select optimal fluids and seals for extreme operating conditions.
- Conduct rigorous stress testing and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) on new hydraulic prototypes.
- Optimize existing hydraulic systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
- Document all design specifications, technical drawings, and testing protocols according to international standards.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in hydraulic circuit design and fluid mechanics.
- Advanced mastery of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex mechanical-hydraulic interfaces.
- In-depth knowledge of international safety standards for high-pressure systems.
- Excellent technical communication skills in both French and English.
Education
A Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, or a closely related field is mandatory for this position. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of thermodynamics and material science.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in hydraulic system design within the heavy machinery or automotive industry is required. Proven experience in simulation software and prototype testing is highly preferred. We are looking for professionals who have successfully navigated the transition from theoretical design to physical implementation.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 18,000 SSP to 28,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and technical certifications.
