Job Overview
The AI Ethics Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of ethical AI policies and practices within Microsoft Morocco. Working closely with product teams, legal counsel, and external stakeholders, the officer will ensure that AI solutions are designed, deployed, and maintained in compliance with international standards and local regulations. This role is critical for safeguarding user trust, mitigating bias, and promoting transparency across all AI initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI ethics policies, guidelines, and assessment tools tailored to the Moroccan market.
- Conduct ethical risk assessments for new and existing AI products, identifying potential bias, fairness, and privacy concerns.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI development lifecycle.
- Provide training and workshops on responsible AI practices for internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor regulatory developments in AI, data protection, and digital ethics across Morocco and the broader MENA region.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership and external auditors on AI compliance status.
- Engage with civil society, academic institutions, and government bodies to promote responsible AI adoption.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning pipelines, and data governance.
- Strong knowledge of ethical frameworks such as IEEE, EU AI Act, and UNESCO AI Ethics recommendations.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate complex ethical dilemmas.
- Effective communication skills to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non‑technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Arabic, French, and English to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and compliance reporting.
Education
A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Philosophy, Law, or a related field is required. Certifications in AI ethics, data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E), or responsible AI are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of professional experience in AI ethics, data governance, compliance, or a related discipline. Prior experience within a multinational technology company or a regulatory agency is preferred.
Salary
The annual compensation package ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and equity components where applicable.
