Job Overview

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about mining safety and regulatory compliance. The Mining Safety Compliance Officer will oversee safety protocols, conduct audits, and implement risk mitigation strategies to maintain a secure work environment. Candidates will work closely with mining engineers, environmental specialists, and operational teams to align practices with Moroccan mining laws and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with mining safety regulations and environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for mining personnel.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety audits, incidents, and compliance metrics.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to Moroccan mining legislation.
  • Implement emergency response plans for mining-related incidents.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in mining safety compliance or occupational health and safety.
  • Strong understanding of Moroccan mining regulations and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for risk assessment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
  • Fluency in French and Arabic is an asset.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety is preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in mining safety compliance, with a focus on regulatory audits and risk management. Experience in open-pit or underground mining operations is advantageous.

Salary

18,000 – 28,000 MAD/month, depending on qualifications and experience.
