Job Overview

APM Terminals, part of Maersk, is hiring an Operations Supervisor for its advanced container terminal at Tangier Med 2, one of Africa’s leading and most modern port facilities. The role focuses on supervising daily port operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and smooth coordination of terminal activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise quay, yard, and gate operations teams (foremen, crane operators, drivers, checkers)
  • Allocate and manage shift staff and equipment efficiently
  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with terminal policies
  • Coordinate vessel berthing, sailing, loading, and unloading operations
  • Manage lashing/unlashing activities and ensure operational quality
  • Act as a communication link between vessel teams, planners, and gate operations
  • Monitor productivity and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain discipline, safety standards, and operational efficiency during shifts

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s or Engineering degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5–7 years of leadership experience in operational/industrial environments
  • Experience in port or terminal operations is an advantage
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage long operational hours
  • Fluent in English and French (local language is an advantage)
  • Strong interpersonal and team coordination skills
  • Valid driving license preferred
