Job Overview

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé Morocco’s efforts to ensure that all products manufactured in the Marrakech facility comply with the highest food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Quality, the manager will oversee a multidisciplinary team of quality engineers, auditors, and laboratory technicians. This role is pivotal in safeguarding consumer trust, maintaining brand reputation, and driving continuous improvement across the production lifecycle.

The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, and regulatory affairs, translating complex food safety regulations into actionable processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and local Moroccan regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, including GFSI, and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) across production lines, analyze data trends, and drive preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with R&D to integrate food safety considerations into new product development.
  • Provide training and mentorship to cross‑functional teams on food safety best practices.
  • Manage the quality laboratory, ensuring accurate testing, calibration, and documentation.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive quality reports to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and continuous performance monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and risk‑based thinking.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of global food safety trends and regulatory changes.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in HACCP, ISO 22000, GFSI standards, and Moroccan food safety legislation.
  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team‑building capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills in French, Arabic, and English.
  • Project management experience, preferably with PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Advanced problem‑solving skills using root‑cause analysis methodologies.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 5‑7 years of progressive experience in food safety and quality assurance within a large‑scale food manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a managerial role overseeing audit programs, supplier quality, and product launch activities is essential.

Salary
