Job Overview

The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Microsoft’s primary data center facility in Marrakech. This includes overseeing the performance, reliability, and security of all hardware, networking, and power systems that support Microsoft Azure services and other cloud offerings. The manager will collaborate with engineering, security, and capacity planning teams to ensure optimal uptime, efficient resource utilization, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of technicians, engineers, and support staff to maintain 99.99% availability of data center services.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies, SOPs, and incident response procedures aligned with Microsoft’s global standards.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, capacity trends, and energy consumption to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, hardware upgrades, and emergency repairs while minimizing service disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements for third‑party services.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, including power usage effectiveness (PUE) improvements and renewable energy integration.
  • Prepare detailed operational reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, cooling, and power systems.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., System Center Operations Manager, Azure Monitor) and automation platforms.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and experience handling high‑severity incidents.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership experience managing cross‑functional technical teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNP Data Center, or ITIL Foundation are highly desirable.

Experience
